Candela Steak House & Wine Bar is located in Albert Road, Portsmouth city. The restaurant classified to be between casual to fine-dining steak restaurant that is emphasizing high quality service, superb meats, special seasonings, and unique decor. Unlike a typical steak house restaurant, Candela Steak House & Wine Bar is providing a unique combination of excellent food at value pricing with a fun and entertaining atmosphere. As a casual, it is serving families with children going out for a celebration or simply a great meal or romantic tête-à-têtes occur each night by shifting from sophistication to comfort through avoiding clubby appearance where dark wood is prevalent, along with leather, masculine feel and man-sized portions. Candela Steak House &Wine Bar is carefully designed to have a broad and gender-neutral appeal, with light-toned woods and splashes of colour creating a Mediterranean atmosphere. Not like the other restaurants where steak is char grilled on gas/electric. It features mesquite-grilled, Scottish Beef-choice steaks, and ribs in a Mediterranean atmosphere. We are serving top quality, 21-day aged steaks that are hand-cut daily on the premises and seasoned to perfection. To meet the expected high dinner volume, there is no waiting for a steak or grills as the grill is out in the open and loaded with steaks cooked to the proper degree of doneness that our guests request.

At Candela, we offer Moroccan Cuisine and Steaks. When you visit us we recommend that you try one of our several Tagine dishes we offer. A tagine is the name of a type of North African dish (Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Tunisia) as well as the special pot in which they are cooked. The traditional tagine pot is formed entirely of a heavy clay which is sometimes painted or glazed. It consists of two parts; a base unit which is flat and circular with low sides, and a large cone or dome-shaped cover that rests inside the base during cooking. The cover is so designed to promote the return of all condensate to the bottom. With the cover removed, the base can be taken to the table for serving.

Tagine dishes are slow cooked at low temperatures, resulting in tender, falling-off-the-bone meat with aromatic vegetables and sauce. The cover has a knob-like formation at its top to facilitate removal. While simmering, the cover can be lifted off without the aid of a mitten, enabling the cook to inspect the main ingredients, add vegetables, move things around, or add additional braising liquid. Ingredients for a tajine include any product that braises well: fish, pigeon, beef, dried fruits, olives and vegetables. Tajine dishes are traditionally flavoured with cinnamon, saffron, ginger, garlic, Ras el hanout, cumin, and peppers. Quince is frequently added to meat.

With it's unique atmosphere and original decoration, Candela offers it's customers very memorable dining experiences.
